What's a Blue Plate Special? Through our Blue Plate Project, diners in need can visit Acorn Community Cafe and order a free hot meal, prepared fresh from the cafe kitchen! The donation-based Blue Plate Special rotates once weekly and is always 100% plant based, featuring local and organic ingredients when possible. Meals are served on the cafe patio or for takeout, with an emphasis on quality, hospitality and respect.

Our volunteers work with local farms at the Lane County Farmer's Market to rescue quality food that can't be sold, and use these ingredients to inspire wholesome meals with good nutritional value to serve as Blue Plate Specials.
